June 11, 2013 : Nepal Launches the Children’s Right Family Campaign with an Essay and Folk Dance Competition


 Nepal Launches the campaign with a BOOM!

On the occasion of 12th World Day against Child LabourChild Welfare Scheme Nepal (CWSN) organized a District-Level Open Folk Song Competition, Kaski on 11 June 2013 at Chipledhunga, Pokhara. The title of the competition was “the Role of Family in Child Rights Protection”. The participants who took part were from schools, colleges, child clubs, mothers’ groups and other organizations.

The Poster  entitled, “A Caring Family is a Child’s First right was also  released during the occasion by the Chief Guest, Mr. Yagya Prasad Adhikari along with secretary of CWSN, Country Focal person of CSACRSA and the other guests. The  poster aims at making people aware about child rights and role of the family to help their children enjoy their rights.



An Essay Competition for School Children was also organized by CWSN in coordination with ED- JUS (Centre for Human Rights Education Cum Access to Justice) Nepal in May and June at Dhangadhi, Kailali. More than 200 students participated in the competition from 19 schools. The District Education Office collected 37 essays from all the schools out which the best essays were rewarded during a prize distribution program along with an Interaction Program on the Role of Stakeholders in Child Rights Protection organized on 19th June 2013 in Dhangadhi, Kailali.
