Aparajeo launched the Advocacy Campaign on ‘Children’s Right to Family’ on 1st June at the ACLAB auditorium organized by ACLAB in Dhaka. The programme was launched through a meeting on “Urban parents knowing about Child rights to Family. 35 participants took part in the program including Children, their mothers, teachers and NGO representatives.
Various issues ranging from the situation of disadvantaged children in Bangladesh, the role of parents in taking care of their children in the family, recognition of Children’s need
to establish their rights in the family to the role of NGO’s to support children and their families to establish child rights at the family level were discussed.
Children were involved through Peer group discussions, participatory discussions and question-answer sessions.
The meeting revealed that Students, Guardians, Teachers and Parents should take the responsibility to establish children’s rights and also abide by the policy of UNCRC, ILO Convention and the Government.
